Moore Buddies is a private, non-profit agency
dedicated to the youth in Moore County who are at risk
of not reaching their full potential due to a variety of
factors.  Youth who are in  need a positive adult role
model, close monitoring of school, home, and
community behavior, as well as opportunities to learn
social, recreational, vocational and educational skills
can benefit from our agency.  Moore Buddies believes
that one caring adult can make a significant difference
in the life of a child and operates under the premise
that when we impact a child’s life in a positive way we
change the future.

Currently Moore Buddies consists of two outstanding
programs which are our One-on-One Mentoring
Program and our Moore Family Connections Program!

Moore Buddies and what we have to offer.
In Honor of Hugh Joyce’s
dedication and commitment to
the cause of mentoring and
volunteerism, the Hugh Joyce
Award is given to a volunteer that
goes “above and beyond.”  While
all of our mentors meet this
definition, this year’s recipient
was Carol Lamphier for her
tireless effort and support of her
mentee’s educational endeavors.
Vicki and Kasey spending quality
time together at Reservoir Park in
Southern Pines.
Spending at least 2 hours a week together,
a mentor and mentee are able to establish
a consistant, dependable relationship.
Having a supportive and attentive mentor
makes our kids smile!!  And we like that!

Scrapbooking Event!  The 50
"Life Books" that were made that day
will go to 50 children who are in Moore
County's foster care system.  Now as a
service project for our program, the
"Life Books
" will hopefully keep these
children connected with and
remembering their life journey.  Call for
